Hamburg – A United Nations aid agency has purchased about 30 000 tons of wheat in a tender for donation to Sudan and Ethiopia, European traders said on Tuesday.

The wheat was said to be of Black Sea origin for shipment in January and February 2009. The price was unclear, although one trader said it was bought at about $175 a ton.
