Ethiopia to host African business forum

Ethiopia will host the 5th African Business Congress and the first Inter Governmental Authority and Development (IGAD) investment forum from 9 to 11 March 2009.

The two regional and sub-regional forums are organized by the Ethiopian government in collaboration with African Business Roundtable and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development.

The two forums are expected to discuss issues related to the importance of trade, investment and infrastructure for economic integration among the IGAD member states and other countries.

Success stories of investment among IGAD member states and enhancing Africa’s industry and its productivity competitiveness in the international market are among the top agenda of the two forums, according to Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and representatives of international and regional financial institutions and banks are expected to attend the two forums.
